Why Join the Washington Irrigation Contractors Association?

WICA is the outgrowth of what was the Washington Chapter of the Irrigation Association. The board and members felt that being an affiliate would give them more freedom while not sacrificing the benefits and IA affiliation.

WICA is a non-profit trade association that is incorporated in the State of Washington. We are affiliate members of the IA. If you join WICA you are automatically an affiliate member of the IA national. In addition, for just an additional $150.00 (for contractors only) you can join the IA national as a full member (normal IA national membership dues for contractors is $300.00).

WICA intends to focus on promoting the business needs of its members like never before. Our articles of incorporation state that only contractors can serve on the Board of Directors to further illustrate how focused we are on the needs of contractors in our State. We encourage and welcome manufacturers, distributors, designers and others to also join WICA and support our efforts by serving on committees etc.

You will notice on our membership application that there are classes of membership. We will be actively promoting only our class A contractor members that are properly licensed and insured and that show professionalism through education program attendance. Much of your dues money will be spent on marketing your business in Washington, and promoting the efficient use of water through professionally installed systems.
